The Texas Society of Radiology Practitioner Assistants was formed on 2/09 to promote the RPA and celebrate ten years of national success! Our First Texas resident RPA graduated in 2002. We have come a long way!

We were successful in defeating SB 821 which would have limited our scope of practice and decreased our salaries. More importantly would hav eprevented us from taking care of our patients.

The purpose of the society is:

To promote the profession of the Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) and to provide continuing medical education (CME) for the professionals involved in providing patient care in radiology. The society will actively promote acts and values to maintain the highest quality of care to patients in radiology setting and elevate public awareness of the RPA. These purposes shall not be restricted by any consideration of nationality, race, color, sex, or creed.

Objectives:

(a) Provide meetings at which to transact society business, to present scientific

papers, to carry on educational activities, to discuss professional issues, and to

encourage similar programs among organizations affiliated with the Society.

(b) Publish and disseminate information pertinent to the conduct of the Society and or

the profession.

(c) Assist in establishing and enunciating high standards of education and training,

and to implement them through appropriate channels.

(d) Stimulate and encourage research designed to provide the knowledge needed to

assure increasingly efficient patient care.
